Sweet Treats.

A couple weeks ago I sent off quite a few cupcake trees for a charity event in Florida.

The lovely lady who I sent them to was kind enough to send me some pictures.

On another subject, someone put on her big girl pants and got a job. I am now a contributing member of society and my countdown to house buying has begun. T minus 729 days and counting.

It's still January.

So who's still going to talk about New Year's, that's right, this girl.

Husby and I are finally done celebrating all the holidays with both sides of our families. His family is in Utah and mine is in Washington so it can make for a hectic holiday season. We got home from visiting my parents a week ago and I'm having such a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Eight days with absolutely nothing to do really messes with a girl's schedule.

During my eight days of doing nothing plus a couple REALLY long (read 14+ hour) car rides I had some time think. As much as I don't like New's Year's resolutions I can't help but love the feeling of a new year, a new beginning, a new me. I have all these goals for my life before children and if I want them to happen I need to start now. Here are just a few of what seems like 10 pages I have written down:

1. Become more healthy. To become a more healthy person I need to eat better and exercise more. I think this in on a lot of people's list but I really want to be a healthy mom so I need to get this love of potatoes under control.

2. My shop. I am the only thing standing in the way of this dream of mine and I need to figure out how to get motivated.

3. Make our little house a home, and do it before summer rolls around. Husby and I will only be here for two more years but I still want to love where I live and make it mine. I'm a nester, always have been and always will be.

4. Plant a garden and stick with it. I don't know how many times I have started gardens and then became bored with them and let everything die.

5. Finish the 1,358 projects I have started BEFORE I start anymore. This one is for me and Husby. He gets really frustrated because I always have crafts all over the place.

So there are 5 of the countless goals I have set for myself this year. Maybe in the next couple weeks I will write them all down so I can keep track of them. One more thing added to the project list.

The below video is has absolutely nothing to do with this post but every time I watch it I can't help but laugh.

Motivation.

I'm finally starting to feel normal again, still have a hard time breathing but breathing is overrated right? Yeah, I think so too. Now I just need my motivation back.As I was staring at Christmas tree today (yes it all up and decorated and I will post pictures later) I decided that I want to start a tradition of taking a family picture in front of it every year. Well in order for that to happen I need to paint the wall and finish my curtains so tonight I will begin that process. Painting our little home has turned into a much bigger process than I first thought, which is why it's taken me forever and a day to begin. Here is the plan for tonight:

-Remove and replace old caulking
-fill holes
-clean walls
-start painting the trim

Fingers crossed I get it all done.

The following pictures have absolutely nothing to do with the above.

Last night I was going back looking through all of our pictures and it reminded me how much fun we've had together over the last 4 years. Oh. My. Goodness. I can't believe we been together for 4 years and married for 3. I love Husby so so much, all these pictures bring back the best memories.

Snowflakes and Sparkles.

I'm super excited to announce that I am working on a Christmas/Holiday line of cupcake trees, cake plates and maybe some other little lovelies.

Everything will be available to order the day after Thanksgiving and will be ready to ship. So no lead time...YAY!!

Once I start working on everything I will post sneak peeks of what's to come.

Here are some photos of inspiration for everything.

Craft Lake City.

First of all, hello to all of my new friends! Second, this last weekend was Craft Lake City and while it was fun, I'm relieved it's over. The week before is a blur because so much was going on trying to get ready for Saturday. There was furniture to be painted, cake plates to make, and decorations had to be finalized.  Misso and I shared a booth, which meant we go to spend the whole day together and we always have a good time. We had a good spot right by the main stage so there was quite a bit of traffic plus we had music to listen to all day long. It was a lovely day but like I said I'm happy it's over, now onto then next task, planning Jenny's wedding which is going to be amazing! I will share details as it starts to come together.

Aren't Misso's necklaces, prints and embroidery hoops so super cute?! I love them all and think I need to buy a couple hoops from her for my bedroom.

In Bloom.

Spring made an appearance today. It was an absolutely lovely day, so my favorite puppy and
I took a walk around the neighborhood.

The pear and cherries trees are starting to bloom and I LOVE the view of the mountains that we have.

P.S. This music is magical.

Depression.

First of all super fun title right? Yeah I know, let me just preface this post with this:this might not be the most jolly sunshine post but it's something I struggle with and it has a happy ending. Plus it's going to be long and most likely lack pictures. The end. Now onto what I would like to say.

I have decided over the last few months that this blog is going to be about my everyday life and be more like a journal for me than anything else. Something for me to look back on in the years to come and remember what life was like with just husband and I. Also a place for me to write, and hopefully become a better writer, which I would love to do. It has taken me a while to figure out exactly what I want to write about, how much I want to share, do I just share craftiness or everything? It doesn't sound like that big a decision, but for some reason it has been for me and I think that's why I have forgotten about it for the last ...oh I dont know 4 months. I'm hoping that I will find joy in blogging again and stick with it.

Not many people know that I have depression. Not the 'oh I've had a bad my whole life is ruined' but there are periods of time where I don't want to get out of bed, let alone leave my house and the rare occasion where I don't want to go on. I don't want people to think I had a tough life because I've had anything but. My family is pretty much leave it to beaver and I love them all so much. My childhood was amazing, we traveled, I never knew what it was to want, I got good grades and was excelled in soccer. Looking back now my life has been a-maz-ing. I have been completely blessed and if someone were to ask me why I was sad I wouldn't have a single reason to give them, which is really hard for most people including my husband to understand. I won't go into too much detail but a couple years ago I was in a really bad place and by the grace of God my life was saved. Since that time my life has done a complete 180, I found out what it was to be happy again and met the absolute love of my life. He makes me smile and laugh until I cry and loves me when I have bad days and don't know how to go on. As I sit here writing this he is sleeping and I am thinking about the family I have been blessed with, a church that I am growing to love and that I get to live my absolute dream, plus the bestest friend a girl could ask for. God is so so good. I don't know where I would be without Him, most likely not here. This is pretty heavy stuff and thinking about everything that has happened makes me want to cry. But I just remember that I get to wake up tomorrow go for a long run, play with my four puppies (I know 4 dogs, right, what was I thinking agreeing to this), and be crafty all day long. I LOVE my life and best of all I'm here to live it.

Totally different subject but my mom came down this weekend, and it was the best. I love when she comes down. We spend all day shopping (literally we left at 11 am and didn't get home until almost 10pm) and then finish the day off with cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. I can tell her anything and she always has the best decorating ideas. She is one of my best friends and I wish we lived closer so I could see her all the time, maybe someday.

Today has been a long day with church, field trips with our friend Sean and dinner with our fantastic friends Misso and Steve. I heart them, and we always have the best time. I am more than ready for bed and to begin tomorrow.  Goodnight moon.

This is how I wake up. every.single.morning. As soon as my eyes open Maximus think it's playtime.
Oh hello 75lb dinosaur.
Prayer meeting before service.

Oh and my camera decided to die. Lovely. So until I decide which one I would like to buy and then actually do it, enjoy the iPhone pictures.

Much Love
